A letter from our President
Subject: UPDATES ON OUR 2012 HOSTING
Greetings to all my teammates,Time is so fast that we only have 10 months left before January 2012. I suppose that we have mixed emotions at this point and most probably, excitement & worry are the top among the list. I'm sending this message to call on everyone to unite and take a single path, a path that will lead us all to a successful hosting of 2012 Grand Alumni Homecoming. Do not allow ourselves to panic or be overwhelmed by anxieties and fear but instead, let us focus on available ways and means to get things done. The fact is we all belong to IIHS Class 1987, whether active or not, here or abroad, doing good or not. The outcome of 2012 Grand Alumni Homecoming will not reflect my performance as president nor anybody else. The entire alumni will judge us as a group: Batch 87! Shall we allow them to have a negative impression on us? An impression that might hunt us all in places we go? Our officers are meeting regularly since the year started. All discussions are geared towards fund-raising and event-planning. To date, our available fund is now P300k. This is the combined fund raised here (PH) and in the US and is already equivalent to 50% of our target: P600k. We are planning 2 more activities to attain the target. First, we will have a raffle to be held in August. Its master plan was finalized last Feb 6 officers'meeting and distribution of tickets will start on Feb 26. This is also our next batch meeting. Secondly, we will send "Pledge Letters" to some of our mates. These mates will be carefully selected and will be chosen based on their monetary capability. Also, mates in the US will have their get-together on July and on that occasion will have their regular collection of dues. Please be informed that I'm closely coordinating with Matt, our focal person in the US. Regarding our event-planning, we will decide on what will be our theme and motif on next officers'meeting (March 13). Please note the difference. Last GAH, the theme was "Be Enchanted"and the motif was "Disney's". I'm inviting everyone to suggest possible theme & motif. You may send your suggestions thru FB Group message or thru my e-mail add. Our mate Louie Villar suggested Broadway to be our motif. I'm hoping that everyone will now start to monitor all the developments of our preparations. The success of 2012 Grand Alumni Homecoming is also our success. Best regards and GOD speed!

Greetings to all,
My wife Leah and I will host our July 2011 reunion in our home here in San Diego. I hope you all can join us. The week of the reunion is during the kid's summer vacation.
Here are few good reasons to visit San Diego and to include attending the batch 87 reunion to your itenerary:
1) We are close to major theme parks and attractions... great places to take the kids for a vacation.
San Diego (Sea World, Lego Land, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Soak City)
Los Angeles (Disneyland, Universal Studio, Knotts Berry Farm, Wild Rivers, Hollywood,
Magic Mountain and many more).
2) Casinos for the adults (Barona, Viejas, Sycuan, Pechanga, Pala, Harrah's)
3) Ship Cruises from San Diego to Mexico or San Diego to Hawaii (Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta,
Hawaii).
4) International Comic-Con will be happening during the reunion week (Thur-Sun) @ the San
Diego Convention Center. (make reservation and buy your tickets... they sell out fast)
5) The best reason to come is to meet old friends and make new ones!!!
It is not too early to plan! Talk to your spouse, talk to your kids and plan on coming to San Diego this July. Hope to see you here!!!
